The second session of Millbrook was an absolute blast highlighted by some serious instructional sessions, intense scrimmages, and unforgettable raffle. Much of the exemplary staff returned from the first session so were a well-oiled machine on the first day. We were treated to our first fantastic meal of the week (best dorm food in the country!) before an evening session that concluded with full-field 2v1 and 1v1.

As the week progressed, the players did an amazing job focusing on individual and group techniques in the morning before going helmets and gloves in the afternoon for Shooting and other non-contact skills. At nights, we divided the players into teams so they could do battle in live game action.

The lower field saw dramatic finishes between the Blue Whales and Whalers including heroic feats by Mashed Potatoes, Shanoooon, the goalies- Conor and Hanley, and several other players. Coach Reilly made several strategic changes but never could get over the hump and take down Coach Foley. On the Upper Field, there were also serious mind games going on between Coach Spinella and Ranaghan, who went undefeated during the course of the week. These teams also adopted animal themes, the Hogs and Sea Gulls, and could produce the noises to back up their selections.

On the last night we held an incredible raffle featuring some amazing prizes and several noteworthy Mystery Boxes, including some of Ryan Boyle’s personal Team USA Game medal apparel and equipment. We were sad to say goodbye to Millbrook and look forward to another incredible Summer next year.
