Trilogy’s Future Aces middle school camps & ICE Program have helped players develop the tools they need to pursue their dreams of playing college lacrosse. In the Fall of 2024, Future Aces & ICE attendee Henry Murchinson (Loomis Chaffee) announced his commitment to play Division 3 lacrosse at Kenyon, and we are fired up for the future Owl.
We checked in with Henry to see how his time at the Future Aces and ICE Program helped prepare him for the Division 3 path:
What was your favorite memory from the Trilogy events you’ve attended?
Henry Murchinson: My favorite memory was attending the Trilogy ICE camp and tournament. Being able to play with different kids from around the country for a week as one team and then taking that hard work into a tournament was very enjoyable. Being able to get to know the other guys on my team and making these memories on the lacrosse field is something I will always cherish.
How do you think the Trilogy events you attended helped prepare you as a lacrosse player?
HM: Trilogy helped me as a player not only on the field but off the field as well. On the field, the events really helped progress my skill and toughness. Off the field, Trilogy really helped me understand how the college process works and what it’s like to be a college player.
What is a piece of advice you would have for anyone going through the college recruiting process?
HM: A piece of advice I would have for someone going through the college recruiting process would be to enjoy every moment you have and to take advantage of every opportunity. The college process is not easy so every little opportunity you get you should capitalize on. Also enjoy being able to play the sport you love and don’t get too much in your head about what coaches are watching or how well you are or aren’t playing.
Why did you choose Kenyon?
HM: I chose Kenyon for many reasons. It is a great program that has had some recent success and the coaching staff is amazing. Also I chose Kenyon because when I visited, it was a place I can really see myself calling home for the next 4 years. That’s one of the most important things. Make sure the school you are picking is not just for lacrosse but also a place where you can really see yourself enjoying your college experience for four years.
